About PMLaw

Alastair Paterson, then a partner in the leading aviation law firm of Beaumont and Sons in London, journeyed to Canada with his wife and daughter in 1953 to start a new life. As his efforts began to take shape, others joined him in the practice of law and together, they started a vibrant, exciting new law firm, which in 1977 became Paterson, MacDougall.

Through Alastair, the firm had its origins in the insurance markets of London, England. It quickly expanded into other specialized areas of practice and through the interests and abilities of its founding partners and many who have since made pmlaw their home, the firm has became a leader in a variety of additional practice areas, the most recent being an expansion into employment law.

We take pride in understanding our clients' businesses. Their objectives and evolving needs are our concerns.
