 Charles joined Paterson, MacDougall LLP as an associate in October 2009.  Since being called to the Bar, he has focused and practiced in the areas of Personal Injury, Insurance Defence and Municipal Liability.  Charles has appeared at all levels of the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, as well as hearings before the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario, the Workplace Safety and Insurance Appeals Tribunal, the Financial Services Commission of Ontario, and the Canada Pension Plan Appeals Tribunal.

Charles is presently involved in mentoring law students at the University of Western Ontario, through Pro Bono Students Canada, as well as volunteering with Pro Bono Law Ontario (PBLO) through the Law Help Ontario project.

He teaches annually at the Ontario Playground Academy, instructing classes on the law of torts and municipal liability for parks and playspaces.

Member: Charles is a member of the Advocates’ Society, Canadian Bar Association, Toronto Lawyer’s Association and Canadian Defence Lawyers Association.
