Jeanne is a partner at Paterson, MacDougall LLP.  Her practice involves the defence of municipalities, school boards and police forces in civil actions, other insurance defence matters and motor vehicle litigation.  She has appeared as counsel before the Superior Court of Justice, the Court of Appeal and at inquests.

Jeanne is a frequent speaker and has presented lectures at such venues as the Canadian Institute’s Annual Provincial/Municipal Liability Symposium, Osgoode Hall’s Professional Development Continuing Legal Education program, the Society of Public Insurance Administrators of Ontario, the Ontario School Boards’ Insurance Exchange, the Ontario Traffic Conference, the Association of Ontario Road Supervisors, the Ontario Association of School Business Officials, the Insurance Institute of Canada, and before smaller groups of municipal and school board personnel. Topics have included: municipal liability, occupiers’ liability and school board and municipal risk management.

Member: Jeanne is a member of the Ontario Bar Association, the Advocates’ Society and the Metropolitan Toronto Lawyers Association.  Jeanne enjoys photography and travelling.

Publications: After an extensive review of case law from across Canada, Jeanne contributed the chapter entitled “The Municipality as Occupier” in the loose-leaf Butterworths text The Law of Municipal Liability in Canada, which is updated annually.
