Jiwan is an associate with Paterson MacDougall LLP. Prior to joining the firm in September 2019, Jiwan completed his articles with an experienced sole general practitioner in Toronto and spent a summer at an international law firm in Seoul, Korea. 

Jiwan’s litigation practice is primarily focused on the areas of aviation, transportation and tour operator law. As a trial and appellate lawyer, Jiwan has advised insurers, airlines, aircraft operators, maintenance organizations, tour operators, freight forwarders and others in relation to aviation incidents, personal injury or death, delay, baggage, cargo, regulatory matters and commercial disputes. Jiwan has represented clients before the Supreme Court of Canada, all levels of the Courts of Ontario and the Federal Courts, the Supreme Court of British Columbia, the Court of King’s Bench of Alberta, Court of King’s Bench of New Brunswick, the Supreme Court of Newfoundland and Labrador, and the Canadian Transportation Agency. 

Jiwan is fluent in English and Korean and is continually improving his French.
